The Vision
  • All schools are thinking how can we rollout a
    11 solution a computer for every child.
    VerizonGoKnow can uniquely address this need
    with an affordable and sustainable solution. The
    goal, then, is for the customer to agree that
    indeed, they do have a goal of rolling out a 11
    solution, but doing so is a daunting task.
    Verizon will show the customer a 7 minute video
    of children using smartphones for educational
    activities. This video will anchor the subsequent
    discussion the video demonstrates that yes,
    indeed, smartphones can be used for educational
    purposes to great advantage, in fact.
  • Verizon will leave with the customer a small set
    of documents plus the video.

How do I set up a discussion for this product?
  • Set up an appointment to discuss the following
  • -Erate
  • -Current Technology Plan
  • -21st technology currently being used in the
    school
  • -Set up of computer labs
  • This is an appointment to gather facts about
    the schools technological set-up. What is the
    schools future in technology? Where do they want
    to be? How can we help them?

Step 2
  • Step 2 Make the Vision Concrete - Plan a Pilot
  • GoKnow will provide a 60 minute webinar in which
    they will describe how Verizon smartphones can be
    used in classrooms to provide engaging and
    relevant educational experiences using a
    districts existing curriculum.
  • At the end of the webinar, GoKnow will propose an
    envisioning process where a district can plan out
    a pilot rollout of 150 (approximately)
    smartphones.
  • It is critical that the customer sees that yes,
    indeed, they can implement a smartphone pilot
    that provides 11 access 24/7. We can anticipate
    a set of objections that customers will have. See
    the attached information sheet Addressing
    Objections.

What do I do after the 1st appointment if they
are interested?
  • Set up a call with GoKnow to complete a webinar.

  • It is imperative that you go to the schools and
    conduct a webinar face to face. You will want
    to bring your Data Sales Consultant with you as
    they can shed light on to the more technical
    aspect and also educate the customer on items
    that we may not know.
  • You will start the meeting off with an
    introduction of Verizon and our program. After
    you and the DSC present than you will engage Go
    Know with the webinar.
  • Once completed, the teachers may have questions
    but the set up is nice because you have Go Know
    as well as Verizon all in one room to comfort the
    school with any questions they may have.

Then What?
  • After the call you will get a better grasp of
    what the school wants to do. They may need
    another meeting, they may be ready to go. Each
    scenario is different.
  • If they are interested than you will start the
    process of getting an account created and work
    with GoKnow for professional development training
    as well as the implementation process for the
    phones.
  • It will be necessary to hand-hold the school
    through this whole process in order for it to be
    a success.
  • This is a solution that needs complete nurturing.

Important Reminders
  • Make sure you educate yourself with the GoKnow
    software to its fullest capacity. It is
    impossible to sell something of this nature and
    no nothing about it.
  • Schools are getting 21st Technology money and are
    using it on technology..dont you want to be a
    part of that?
  • If a school finds a solution that engages their
    students while increasing test scores than they
    are in.

Results
  • St. Marys City Schools recently received test
    scores back.
  • The classroom that used the PDAs was a 4th grade
    classroom and was compared to a classroom in the
    4th grade without the PDAs. The results were
    impressive.
  • There was a 46 increase in reading and 71
    increase in math scores. The classroom without
    increased by 15 in reading and 42 in math.
