You Do Err

• Take away knowledge of the scriptures and men
  walk in darkness (Psa. 119105, 130)
• Take away Gods power and men will limit God to a
  measure of his own small ideas (Isa. 558-9)
• The Sadducees thought they had Jesus trapped with
  their common-sense wisdom
• Why did they so greatly err (Mk. 1227)?

Not Knowing the Scriptures

• They were Jews who studied and taught the Law,
  but did not believe or understand it (Acts
  237-8)
• Today, much religious error is due to the same
  cause
• Salvation by faith alone (Jas. 224)
• Cannot fall from grace (Gal. 54)
• Many religious bodies (Eph. 44)
• Many causes for divorce (Mt. 199)

Not Knowing the Scriptures

• Demand scripture for all that you do in religion
  and place scripture over human tradition
• Desire to know the truth of scripture
• Understand the meanings of the original words in
  a scripture
• Keep a scripture in its context
• Take all the scriptures together that are related
  a topic

• They were Jews who believed in God, but did not
  believe in the power of God (Acts 268)
• Today, much religious error is due to the same
  cause
• Power of creation (Rom. 120)
• Power of the miraculous (Rom. 14)
• Power of the gospel to save (Rom. 116)
• Power of the gospel to live (2 Tim. 35)
