Valid Characters
  • Organization and site display names can contain
    only the following characters (all other
    characters are invalid)
  • A-Z
  • a-z
  • 0-9
  • - (hyphen)
  • Spaces are also valid. However, remember that
    parentheses, (), and brackets, , cannot be
    used.

Invalid Characters in Org and Site name
  • Using the Exchange Administrator to correct the
    Organization Name
  • Same procedure used for changing Site name

Distribution List Naming
  • DLs in Exchange 5.5 will be converted to UDGs or
    universal mail-enabled groups
  • Distribution lists as used by Exchange 5.5 can
    only contain 20 characters or will be truncated
    by the ADC in the AD
  • Truncation creates a problem in uniqueness with
    long DLs
  • Cahners Denver Exchange Administrators
  • Cahners Denver Exchange Managers
  • Rename these groups per the naming standards
    document P2K-06892 Define Naming Standards.

Resource Mailboxes
  • Two mailboxes in Exchange 5.5 mapped to one
    Windows NT account now become two separate
    mailbox-enabled user objects in AD
  • NTDSNoMatch finds mailboxes with multiple user
    accounts and user accounts with multiple
    mailboxes
  • Shared mailboxes will need to be assigned a
    dedicated user account prior to the ADC CA
    implementation

  • RCs need to be collapsed for manageable ADC CAs
  • RCs should contain like items
