  • Important functions of the kidneys
  • Maintain the chemical consistency of blood
  • Filters 1 liter of blood every minute, but only
    125 ml will enter the tubular system which will
    eventually form 1cc/minute of urine
  • Send toxins, metabolic wastes, and excess water
    out of the body
  • Main waste products are three nitrogenous
    compounds
  • Urea
  • Uric acid
  • Creatinine

  • Ureters transport urine from each kidney to?
