A little, very little, less, not much
uncountable noun
  • e.g.,
  • We have a little butter in the fridge.
  • Theres very little food. We need to go shopping.
  • Im trying to eat less fat (than before).
  • Theres not much food in the house.

    uncountable nouns.
  • e.g. There is a little water in the bottle.
  • Very little It means almost none before
    uncountable nouns.
  • e.g. - Theres very little rice to cook. We
    need to buy some.
  • - She ate very little chocolate last
    week. Good for her.
  • Less It compares quantities with uncountable
    nouns.
  • e.g. - They drank less coffee (than they drank
    before).
  • Not much It means a small amount before
    uncountable nouns.
  • e.g. - Theres not much oil in the house.

  • We eat very few frozen meals. I think thats
    healthier.
  • Skim milk has fewer calories (than whole milk).
  • There arent many vegetables.

  • Enough expresses the idea of an acceptable
    amount or the amount someone wants to expect

  • She doesnt eat fast enough.
  • 2. Enough is used before nouns. enough plural
    count/uncountable noun
  • e.g. I didnt eat enough eggs

  • 3. Enough is used as a pronoun ( replaces a noun
    mentioned before)
