Critical thinking and creativity demand the
liberalization of learning and information. But I
also believe that its not simply the information
thats valuable, but also the glimpse OCW offers
into how MIT has structured its teaching and
research.

OCW saved him an enormous amount of time and
stress. I was delighted by the way the material
is so coherently presented. It is truly inspiring
to see this level of excellence.

Last semester, I had a course in metallurgical
engineering. I didnt have notes, so I went to
OCW. I downloaded a course outline on this, and
also some review questions, and these helped me
gain a deeper understanding of the material.

The Leading Organizations course has turned me
on to all sorts of useful references. Weve used
a bunch of books mentioned in the syllabus. And
the lecture notes are also an important tool. OCW
has definitely accelerated our ability to train.

I realized there was this huge disconnect
between the math department and the engineering
department who are the downstream users of the
material thats taught in the math classes I had
no idea how or what was being taught.

I realized, watching OCW video clips, that
faculty experiments help the students to better
understand the theory. This has changed my method
of teaching. Since then, I have been trying to
provide the students with more demonstrations.

We had a mechanics course in our university that
followed MITs Course 8.01 pretty closely. It was
great I listened to the lectures at our
university, and then went home and watched the
MIT lecture. It helped me understand some of the
difficult concepts, and to get familiar with the
English terms.

I work for the U.S. Navy solving real-world
problems. I have one project involving how to
increase fracture resistance in F-18 Super Hornet
canopies. Pilots have died due to this type of
failure. I wentto your site boom I found
materials on Fracture and Fatigue, and this
gave me ideas and pointed me in a new direction.

What a service! These videos afford students an
in depth perspective into MIT scholarship and it
is INSPIRING. It inspires them because it lets
them know that they can understand and appreciate
these difficult concepts on the level of MIT
students.
