Objectives
  • Students will conduct a survey to 10 first grades
    students and then accurately record their data on
    a spreadsheet using MaxCount.

Description
  • Over the course of 2 class periods, the students
    will collect and organize data about favorite
    pizza toppings. The students will survey 10
    first grade students and edit an existing
    MaxCount document to demonstrate their findings.

Day 1
  • Introduce students to their assignment using the
    spec sheet and assignment rubric.
  • Model how to use/complete the data collection
    sheet.
  • Go over expectations/rules for visiting other
    classrooms.

Assignment Spec Sheet
  • Favorite Pizza Topping Data Collection
  • Day 1 (in the classroom)
  • Decide on 3 types of pizza toppings.
  • Write them on the top of the survey sheet.
  • Survey 10 students in 1st grade.
  • Record their favorite pizza topping and name.
  • Day 2 (in the lab)
  • Open the MaxCount document.
  • Add your pizza topping choices and student names.
  • Save your document with the file name
    (namepizza).
  • Select/ insert at least 3 pictures to add to your
    document.
  • Add a Word Art title.
  • Save your work before closing or printing
