Types of Govt

• I. All of these fall under the US
• A. Federalism govt powers are divided between
  state and federal level
• 1. federal powers declare war, coin money,
  military
• 2. state powers education, marriages, drivers
  license
• B. Democracy govt where people have the power
  (VOTING!)
• 1. representative democracy elect people to
  lead us
• 2. direct democracy ALL citizens participate in
  lawmaking
• C. Republic representative govt same as
  representative democracy

• D. Dictatorship, totalitarian, autocracy govt
  controlled by one person
• E. Monarchy govt controlled by royalty (king
  or queen)
• F. Oligarchy govt controlled by a few
• G. Theocracy govt controlled by religious
  leader (POPE)
• H. Socialism govt with no social class
  everyone is equal
• I. Anarchy no govt ( no laws)
