4Giving to a need or needing to give? The
Purpose for Christian Giving
5 Christians dont just give to a need, we need to
give. Why? Because our giving is the
overflow of Gods gift to us in Jesus ...you
know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that
though he was rich, yet for your sake he became
poor, so that you through his poverty might
become rich (2 Cor. 89).
6The question is NOT how much I should
give? The question IS How much of me, my
life in Christ and all that God has entrusted to
me is reflected in my giving?
7Generous giving is born of Grace... ....an
obedient, grateful response to God's gift in
creation and in Christ, and to the commands of
Scripture.
8So Generous Giving is a regular feature of the
rhythms of Christian life Yours Lord is the
greatness, the power, the glory, the splendour
and the majesty for everything in heaven and
earth is yours. All thing come from you and of
your own do we give you.
9What happens when we freely give?
10We are transformed by the unconditional act of
love for one another and for the world. JOY
11Others are transformed by the unconditional act
of love for one another and for the world. FRUIT
12The challenge to church leaders To give
generously is to be caught up in the overflow of
Gods grace, for when we give, we reflect the
nature of God himself. For church leaders the
goal of stewardship is not simply to obtain the
gift, but to nurture the giver.
