  • to assist school systems
  • to determine if an educator meets the Federal
    definition of highly qualified when placed in a
    particular teaching assignment
  • and to gather data to report to USDOE, to use
    for AYP, etc.

  • Updated annually by combining the DOEs Fall CPI
    data collection and the PSCs Certification
    Information System (CIS)
  • Subjected to a manual edit cycle
  • Automatically updated from the Certification
    Information System (CIS)

  • A highly qualified educator has documentable
    knowledge of the subject area content when
    teaching a core subject.
  • Core Subjects
  • English, Reading, Math, Science, Civics and
    Government, History, Geography, Economics, Art,
    Foreign Language, Early Childhood
  • (In Georgia Art is Chorus, Music, and Visual
    Arts)
