Nouns
  • Concrete nounsthese are nouns which you can
    observe by using your senses, which are smelling,
    tasting, seeing, hearing, and touching. E.g.,
    desk, eggs, florescent light.
  • Abstract nounsthese are nouns which you CANNOT
    observe with your senses. E.g, capitalism, love,
    justice, hate, friendship

Prepositions
  • Definition-a preposition is a word that shows a
    relationship between one object and another.
    E.g.,
  • The ball is under the table.
  • The jet flew over Mexico.
  • (objects are in blue prepositions are in green)
  • Another way to remember prepositions is to think
    that a preposition comes before a noun.

Interjections
  • Definitionan interjection is a word or short
    group of words used to express a strong feeling.
    Typically, if the feeling is one of surprise,

    feeling is not so surprising, then a comma (,) is
    used. E.g.,
  • No way! Im not singing by myself
  • Ouch! That hurts.
  • No, I didnt complete my homework.
  • Yes! I did complete my homework. ?

  • Definitionan adjective is a word used to
    describe a noun or a pronoun. E.g.,
  • Jennifer wore a red dress to school.
  • Jose was terrified when the eggs hatched.
  • Guadalupe has gorgeous eyes

  • Huge, small, wild, brown, warm, furry, friendly,
    lovable, playful, restless
  • Adjectives tell how many
  • Six eggs, many cats, few dogs, several elephants,

  • This team, that field, these children, those rats

  • Definitionan adverb is a word that
    modifies/changes a verb, an adjective, or another
    adverb.
  • Adverbs tend to end with ly.
  • very means truly

  • The baby crawled. (How?) quickly, slowly, etc
  • The baby crawled. (Where?) everywhere
  • The baby crawled. (When?) sometimes
