Study Design

• Select the National Survey of Engagement (NSSE)
  to measure college student gains first to senior
  year
• Assemble a consortium of Catholic colleges
• Fourteen (14) in 2004
• Thirty-six (36) in 2007
• Append questions on mission to NSSE
• Questions developed, refined from a set used
  previously.
• Mined mission statements of consortium
  participants to distill collection of mission
  concepts common to the Catholic colleges.
• Finalized question set vetted with NSSE
  consultants.
• Administer NSSE with Catholic Consortium questions
