• The predicate of the sentence tells something
  about the subject.

Simple Subject

• The simple subject is the main word or word group
  that tells whom or what the sentence is about.
• Example The red, rusted wagon was left outside.
• Complete subject The red, rusted wagon
• Simple subject wagon

Simple predicate

• The simple predicate, or verb, is the main word
  or word group in the complete predicate.
• Example The teacher helped the student complete
  her work.
• Complete predicate helped the student complete
  her work
• Simple predicate helped
