Title: Title Science Fair Project
1TitleScience Fair Project
Note This slide goes on the back of your board
on the top right. No names on front so that it is
fair during judging. Make sure that you design a
large title on the front of your board.

Create a unique title for what you are doing!
2Problem
- What is the problem you are trying to solve? -
Remember the challenge TSUNAMI ON THE WAY!
Imminent tsunami on its way to hit the East
coast of the continental U.S. that resulted from
the eruption of, and landslide that followed, the
Cumbre Vieja volcano in the Canary Islands, a
volcanic archipelago off the coast of
northwestern Africa. Since much of our
electrical power supply was wiped out, student
engineers must work together in small groups to
design the most efficient solar cooker and other
solar devices to help these disaster victims.
3Research
- Think of these questions as you write your
research in PARAGRAPH FORM! What are the ways
heat is transmitted? What is solar energy (think
of the two forms passive and active)? How is
it useful? What are the benefits and drawbacks of
using solar energy? Try to discuss the
mathematical relationship among reflection,
transmission, and absorption of light. Discuss
how certain materials may be more effective in
directing and concentrating the suns rays and
why that may be.

5Possible Solutions
- Think of the ways you may have adjusted your
final model so that it was better. What did you
discuss as a group? Did you have any
disagreements or problems that you faced while
drawing your proto-types for solar cooker
designs? On these slides, you want to upload any
pictures and/or drawings of your initial ideas
when you got together as a group. Show
everything that you discussed and what your
thought process was like! - This site is helpful http//d43fweuh3sg51.cl

6Possible Solutions
7Chosen Solution / Prototype
- This should show an actual photograph of your
final solar cooker / solar energy device and
drawings of different views of your model front
view, top view, side view.

List ALL materials that you used in the designing
and building process!!
9Procedure
Write your detailed procedure! This procedure
should be able to be followed by someone who had
no idea what you did and was not a part of your
group. This means that if a certain step is not
easy to describe ONLY in words, you should draw a
simple sketch to go along with the words to help
describe what you mean.
10Results / Pictures
- Add any pictures that you took with your phone or
camera. You may ask the teacher if he/she has
any pictures of your group working. - Give any results and pictures of your solar
energy device in action! You may use the sheet
labeled Temperature Data to record your
findings and create a graph.
11Conclusion
- What did you find? Were you successful? What
might you do differently next time? What did you
learn? What questions do you still have?
12References
- List any and ALL references that you used while
conducting this engineering design project.
