Seating Assignments
  • Students will be seated in alphabetical order
  • Students may have their assigned seat changed
    should I deem it necessary.
  • If, after the 4 ½ week mark, the class behavior
    has been at or above expectations, students may
    have the opportunity to choose a new desk.
  • I have final say where students will sit during
    class

My Expectations of Students
  • Be prompt
  • Be ready to learn when class begins.
  • Be prepared
  • Have materials with you and know due dates.
  • Be a polite and positive participant
  • Speak in a normal tone of voice, and listen
    attentively.
  • Be productive
  • Turn in work on time, and always do your best.
  • Be a problem solver
  • Correct problems quickly and peacefully before
    they escalate.

Expectations for Coursework
  • Bring your binder or notebook, agenda and
    appropriate writing tools to class.
  • Know due dates, and submit all coursework on
    time.
  • All assignments and their due dates will be
    posted in the classroom as well as on my teacher
    web-blog.

Policies
  • Only water is allowed in the classroom. No food,
    candy or gum is permitted.
  • Please be in your seat when the bell rings, as
    class begins at that time. Begin Quick Write.
  • All assignments and projects with a grade of 75
    or lower can be resubmitted or corrected for a
    new grade.
  • Absences
  • Ask classmates first for missed assignments.
  • If you are absent on a quiz or test day, you will
    have one-day after your return to make up the
    quiz or test.

  • Grades are based on the percentage of each
    category.

  • Quizzes 30
  • Journals/daily-work 20
  • Homework 10
  • Grades are posted online and updated every Monday.
  • Grading Scale
  • 90-100 A
  • 80-89 B
  • 74-79 C
  • 70-73 D
  • 69 and below F
  • Grades are calculated on cumulative percentage
    and are rounded up whenever possible.
