  • By Scott Cusimano

2
Elementary
  • In the 18oos, the students are taught in a 0ne
    room sch0ols. The sch00l is n0t 0rganised by
grade, they are taught by the text b00k they use.
The students read the assigned book and recited
    the information they learned.
  • The young students had to walk to school every
day. These sch00ls would only be in the summer
    and winter because of harvest.
  • In the 18oos, elementary school started near
morning and ended in the afternoon. The school
would teach different things depending on the
area where it is taught. In s0me places, teachers
have to stay with the students and their family.

Elementary
  • Here are students in an elementary school.

4
High School/ Academy
  • In the 1800s after elementary, the student(mainly
boy) would either straight to college, or going
to a high school or an academy, most were
private(had to be paid for by attending
    families.).
  • In 1821, the first public high school was made in
Boston. These high schools have several rooms,
and are meant for preparing students for college,
    usually serving white students. African
    Americans went to separate schools.

5
College
  • In college, the students would learn about their
jobs. They would study business, engineering,
mineralogy, biology and other sciences, and
agriculture. In college, they would spend up to
7 years in college and earn up to a doctorate.

6
Apprenticeships
  • When the student was in the apprenticeships, they
would work with the manager and help him/her with
his/her work. This was the end of their
    education process.

7
Education Now
  • In 2009-2010, education is much different now
then it was in the 1800s. Today, some schools
teach technology, and computer using. Back then,
the students learned about simple subjects.
There was only one room for elementary, and
horses and stage coaches in stead of cars.

8
Elementary Now
  • Elementary school in 2009-2010 is/was separated
grades, multi-room schools, and had/has bus
    transportation along with other optional
    transportation. These schools will teach
    physical education, science, social studies,
math, language arts, library, music, and art.
Most of these classes are usually taught in one
room, but some of them are taught in other rooms.
  • There are some standards set under the No Child
Left Behind policy created in 2001, and some
    standards statewide.

9
Elementary Now
  • This is Lingle-FT. Laramie Elementary in Wyoming.
This is a normal elementary school.

10
Middle School/ High School (Now)
  • Middle School now is taught in multi-room middle
schools, and uses several different books. They
    teach physical education, science, social
studies, math, language arts, music, art, health
(in most states), life skills, and a variety of
different classes and sports. There are
standardized testing and finals for some schools.
For smarter students, Advanced Placement (AP)
courses are offered. These Schools come mostly
    public.

11
College Today
  • In college today, there are many ways and
opportunities to get a degree. College degrees
are Associates, Undergrad, Masters, and a
professional degree (ex. MD). After that,
    doctors would complete their residency.
