Proposals Main Principles

• Keeping it simple
• Combining the best from two standards
• Importing a simplified version of HiperLAN2, and
  overlay it over the basic 802.11 MAC
• Dividing the time domain, dynamically, between
  802.11a and HiperLAN2 devices

Summary

• Convergence between 802.11 and HL2 provides the
  users with best of two worlds, e.g full
  interoperability, QoS and Coexistence
• The Solution will enable full Interoperability
  and Coexistence only if adopted by both standard
  committees
• Both IEEE802.11 and the BRAN committees should
  take immediate measures in order to establish a
  common forum that will discuss the implementation
  of the solution
• hLAN is offering this proposal as a platform for
  developing a global solution
