    competition for the lives of youth. Everyday
    television and other forms of media attempt to
    influence their decision making and cultural
    orientation.
  • As mentors its imperative to understand and
    model relevant skills, acquire knowledge and use
    support systems to facilitate positive
    self-development, social and community bonding
    while maintaining ongoing self care.

relationships. Valuing diversity creates a
climate which is empowering, creative,
collaborative and affirms that each person is a
valuable contributor to the community. Valuing
diversity strengthens a society and develops each
individuals self-worth, skills and talents. A
valued and creative community united for the
cause of justice is the cornerstone of an
equitable and safe society.
