• Heat is the transfer of energy between two
  objects.
• This is why objects feel hot or cold.
• It is the difference in temperature.
• Remember your bare foot on the tile floor.

Heat and Thermal Energy

• If heat is the transfer of energy then, the type
  of energy transferred is thermal.
• Thermal energy is the total energy of the
  particles that make up the substance.

Thermal Equilibrium

• Objects at different temperature will always try
  to reach the same temperature.
• The higher temperature object will always
  transfer energy to the lower temperature object.

• Conduction is the transfer of thermal energy from
  one object to another through direct contact
• Example

• Conductors are substances that transfer thermal
  energy very easily.
• Examples
• Tile floor
