California Volunteer Matching Network

• Launched in October 2006 as an initiative of
  First Lady Maria Shriver
• Provides a searchable database of more than
  45,000 diverse volunteer opportunities
• Housed at CaliforniaVolunteers.org a website
  that connects virtually all Californians to local
  volunteer opportunities

How CVMN Works

• Website aggregates opportunities from Hubs and
  virtual volunteer matching sites
• Hubs volunteer connector organizations
  (Volunteer Centers, Hands On affiliates, etc.)
• Currently 27 Hubs serve 46 counties (over 85 of
  Californias population)
• Hubs help local nonprofits and public agencies
  identify, develop and post community volunteer
  opportunities

Volunteers indicate the volunteer cause they are
interested in and where they want to serve. This
generates a list of appropriate opportunities.

Volunteers click on the opportunity they are
interested in to learn more about it and to sign
up

• Identifying potential projects

• Supporting volunteer needs as part of disaster
  response and recovery
