Detector Status/Plan
  • Hybrid development complete.
  • 36 hybrids delivered, 4 more expected.
  • 2/9 rejected due to readout chip failures (7/9
    78) suspect sensor bias wire bond switching to
    conductive epoxy for bias connection.
  • Also have 4 old hybrids.
  • May not have enough for 6 stations (yield
    required is 36/44 82). 4 stations should be
    easy (24/44 55).
  • Module development
  • Full production of 4x HDIs recd (plenty for 6
    stations).

Detector Status/Plan continued
  • Plane/Station development
  • Three planes being tested.
  • 1 has a large number of bad bump bonds.
  • Production rate expected to be 2 planes (1
    station) per week.
  • Expect 2 stations complete by 3/21.
  • Expect 4 stations complete 4/18.
  • SLINK
  • First prototype tested modifications required.
  • Revised PCBs received 1st assembled board
    expected today (3/7/08).
  • Delivery of ACTEL FPGAs will determine production
    rate
  • 2 in hand now (1 PCB)
  • 4 more in late March (2 more PCBs)
  • 8 more in early April (4 more PCBs)
  • Box/Area
  • Mechanical design to be coordinated with needs of
    LHCb VELO (1st users).
  • CM Lei has been assigned by PPD.

DAQ Status/Plan
  • DAQ Hardware/Firmware (Nevis)
  • PCI interface 98 complete (trigger/timing hooks
    not written)
  • Router 90 complete (trigger/timing,
    implementation of merges not fully tested)
  • SLINK (tbtm) firmware debugged without pixel
    modules 1st integration testing planned 4/1.

  • Online software (FNAL, Syracuse)
  • Core low level routines exist have been tested.
  • Development of the balance of the package has
    begun (1/3 done).

Schedule
  • Slink integration testing 1st week of April.
  • Install test 2-station telescope 3rd week of
    April.
  • Install test 4-station telescope 1st week of
    May.
  • Install test VELO sensors 3rd 4th weeks of
    May.
  • Install test 6-station telescope as possible.
