- Tomorrow, September 18th is Open House.
Classrooms will be open from 500-600. There
will be pizza dinner available for purchase in
the cafeteria. The Book Fair will also be open.
I hope to see you there! - We will have our first Mile Club on Thursday,
September 20th. You are welcome to run or walk
with your child on Mile Club Days (1150-1230).
On Early Release Days, Kindergarten has PE from
1100-1130. Mile Club shirts will be on sale
(until they sell out) on Thursdays and Fridays.
Bright orange and pink shirts are 10 and tye dye
shirts are 15. - Please remember to read with your child every
night for 30 minutes. Together we can create the
love of reading. ?

- This week we will
- study the letters Oo and Ff and their sounds
- compare objects in a group and determine groups
that are greater than, less than, and equal to - review the sight words we and the
- use our 5 senses to observe, explore, make
apple sauce with our apples during Science - study how things change over time during Social
Studies - welcome our parents to our classroom during Open
House - Please remember, to demonstrate mastery of
letters, your child needs to know its name, write
it, and use the sound. To demonstrate mastery of
numbers, your child needs to know its name, write
it, and show objects to match it. - To demonstrate mastery of sight words your child
should be able to recognize the word in several
different settings (alone, in sentences, or in
books)

READ! READ! READ! Every night for 20-30
minutes Kindergarten teachers have always known
that kids have to believe they can read before
they can actually do it. -Reggie Routman, from

Remember to save your box tops and soda tabs! Box
tops will help earn money for our school. Soda
tabs are collected, counted and sent to the
Ronald McDonald House. Remember to order your
SCRIPit is money you would spend anyway and it
earns money for our school!
Touch Math We are working on numbers 0-5 as well
as learning their touch points. Touch math
contains dots and circles on each number. It
reinforces number values, eliminates guessing and
reduces errors (during addition and subtraction
problems).
