Title: REMEMBER THE TITANS
1REMEMBER THE TITANS Civil Rights Act or 1964 (law
that required all to be treated equally
regardless of race, sex, religion, etc.) In
1971, torn by political unrest, Alexandria,
Virginia, where there had been no race mixing,
the school board was forced to integrate white
and black schools into one. A high school
football team did more than play to win. During
the course of what would become a legendary
football team, the Titans of T. C. Williams High
School discovered more about themselves as young
men than as athletes. As it turned out, they did
more to transform the hearts and minds of an
entire city than anyone ever imagined. Remember
The Titans is the true story of that amazing
football team and the two courageous men who, as
their coaches, led them on an extraordinary and
inspirational journey.
