Orientation analysis
SFG imaging allows for the spatial analysis of
monolayers on surfaces. The images also provide
statistical analysis of the average orientation
and distribution of surface species. This system
here is a SAM on gold surface. The local spectra
are analyzed to create a histogram. These
values are then projected onto the orientation
curve to obtain the orientation distribution.
Finally the information is mapped back onto the
surface for visualization of the surface species
and location.
