Desperate times

• Lola receives a frantic call from her boyfriend
  Manni. He has misplaced a large sum of cash that
  he was bringing to his shady boss, Ronnie. In
  twenty minutes, Ronnie is coming to collect the
  money. So, he turns to Lola for help.

  Becker, and Dani Levy, Tykwer formed the X Filme
  Creative Pool, a production company.

  while maintaining some form of structure and
  financial security

Rennt (1998)

• X Filmes first major international success.
• Filmed in Berlin, Tykwer wrote the movie
  specifically for Franka Potente with the
  intention of casting her as Lola.
• 1999 was also another big year for Lola Rennt.
  It won the Independent Spirit Award for Best
  Foreign Film. The movie was also nominated for
  the British Academy Award and Nation board of
  Review, both for Best Foreign Film.
