What are Natural Pigments?
Natural pigments are colored substances that are
derived from natural sources, such as minerals or
from plants and insects. The colorants may be
ground, washed and sifted, but otherwise are not
chemically modified. As an example, the natural
pigment yellow ocher is derived from the iron
oxide mineral goethite found in many locations
throughout the earth. The mineral is ground to
small particles, washed and sifted but remains an
iron oxide mineral.

What Does Non-Toxic Mean?
Non-toxic is a claim with almost no
regulationits mostly a marketing term.
Non-toxic means the product is not poisonous or
doesnt contain ingredients that have been linked
to toxic responses (like hormone disruption,
cancer, etc.) in humans. However, the marketing
claim of non-toxic is usually restricted to the
products intended applicationnot all possible
uses of the product. So, a pigment may be
considered non-toxic in artists paint, but not
in cosmetics or food.

Luberon Red Ocher RFLES Pigment
Our Luberon Red Ocher is from ocher deposits in
the French quarries of Gargas and Rustrel nestled
in a 12 mile long enclave in the heart of the
Luberon Massif, the ocher country. Ocher is a
symphony of colors ranging from pale yellow
through the orange range to an intense red. It
has two major characteristics it does not fade
in daylight and the color is highly concentrated.

Armenian Purple Ocher Pigment
Armenian Purple Ocher is a natural earth
containing clay tinted by iron oxide that gives
an exceptionally cool purple red hue. Our
Armenian Purple Ocher contains about 13 iron
oxide and 49 silica. Purple Ocher is obtained
from iron ore deposits near Lori, Armenia.

Gold Pearlescent vol 4 oz
Rublev Colours Gold Pearlescent pigment is a gold
pearlescent pigment with a satin finish. FDA
approved. The pigment consists of mica that has
been coated with titanium dioxide and iron
oxides. The thickness and the coarseness of the
particle determines the sparkle of the pigment,
resulting in a satin gold appearance. Source

sesquioxide or chromia, is one of four oxides of
chromium. It is commonly called chrome green when
used as a pigment however, it was referred to as
viridian when it was first discovered. This
