Paints
  • Get Rublev colours watercolor from our online
    store, Natural Pigments. Rublev Colours
Watercolor are made like the watercolors used by
past watercolor masters. The colors are genuine
single pigment paints available individually in
    tubes cakes.

2
Rublev Colours Watercolors are made with the same
pigments used by watercolor masters of the 17th
to 19th centuries.
3
We make Rublev Colours Watercolors in small
batches using gum arabic and sugar syrup, which
were the basic ingredients in watercolors of past
centuries. There are no other additives to alter
the characteristics of each color. Rublev Colours
Watercolors do not contain fillers to extend
colors, dispersants to disperse and granulate
pigments and brighteners to intensify colors.
Rather, each color is crafted to develop its
unique character so they behave much the same as
the colors of past masters.
4
Azurite Full Pan
Rublev Colours Azurite is a greenish blue
watercolor that is transparent, granulating and
non-staining. Azurite is a basic copper carbonate
mineral, which is found in many parts of the
world.
5
Vivianite Full Pan
Rublev Colours Vivianite (Blue Ochre) is an inky
blue color from the natural mineral, Vivianite,
used in historical painting. Our vivianite comes
from bogs around the Moscow region, and has a
dark blue masstone with a smokey blue undertone.
6
Ultramarine Blue 15ml
Ultramarine Blue is a synthetic inorganic blue
pigment consisting of a double silicate of
aluminum and sodium with sulfide and occurs in
nature as a component of the semi-precious stone,
lapis lazuli.
7
Cobalt Blue Full Pan
Cobalt blue, discovered in 1704 or 1705, is
generally regarded as the first of the modern
colors. In truth it is something of an anomaly,
appearing well before the blossoming of chemistry
as a science in the late 18th century. 4 oz vol.
8
Maya Blue Full Pan
Maya Blue, developed by the Maya who ruled
Mesoamerica from about 290 to 900 C.E., is a
remarkable pigment based on a blue dye
precipitated onto clay.
