What is a German Chamber of Commerce and
Industry? Statutory Membership All companies
pay mandatory subscriptions to their chamber
according to their capacity. Chamber represents
all branches and companies equally regardless of
size, whether it be the corner shop or a
multinational corporation. All companies have one
vote and equal rights. The subscriptions of the
companies keep the chambers financially
independent of vested interests and government
influence. The exceptional efficiency of the
German system of compulsory chamber membership is
based on corporate self-government.

Scientific Region of Braunschweig city of
science 2007
I
Since 2005 there is a contest among German cities
districts, who should be the first. The goal is
to make science, economy and society closer to
each other on a regional level. Developing
universities Bringing more competition in
science Making science more international
Encouraging communication between science,
economy and society Out of 10 cities
Braunschweig was elected to be City of Science
2007.
Slogen Kitchen of ideas Research means
experimenting cooking does too. New recipes are
created and tried, ingredients are varied, spices
added in various different ways. Curiosity and
creativity, courage and the joy of experimenting,
are what link cooking and science.

Technology Transfer Why?
I
Regular RD is a basis for innovation in SME...
Probabability of product innovations in SMEs is
dependent on the regularity of RD-investments! S
