- Section 42 (1) of the Disaster Management Act,
Act 57 of 2002, provides for a Municipal Disaster
Management Framework - Each metropolitan and each district municipality
must establish and implement a framework for
disaster management in the municipality aimed at
ensuring an integrated and uniform approach to
disaster management in its area by
