- A desert is a dry often sandy region with little
rainfall, extreme temperatures, and few plants.

22African Savannas
- The animals that live in savannas have adapted to
a great deal of changes in their food supply
throughout the year. During the wet season,
there is plenty of food and water. But during
the dry season, food and water is hard to find.
Many savanna animals migrate to deal with this

23Ethiopian Plateau
- The Ethiopian Plateau is between 5,000 and 6,000
ft high. The plateau is cut by many deep valleys.
