Constitutional Responsibilities
  • The AE/EEO Committee shall monitor and develop
    programs to address the following issues
  • Rates of hiring
  • Promotions, Details
  • Terminations/Separations
  • Adverse Actions and Disciplinary Actions
  • Training
  • Awards, Merit Pay and
  • Distribution of Authority and Responsibility

In addition to the above, AE/EEO monitors all
Affirmative Action Issues/Matters and works with
the National President, Legal and Legislative
Review Committee Chairpersons to develop BIGs
position and its impact on advancement and
employment opportunities for African Americans in
the Federal, State and Local government.

2009-2010 Focus and Direction
  • The FOCUS is to rebuild the AE/EEO infrastructure
    within BIG in order to address and implement
    Article II, Goals and Objectives, Section 1 and 2
    of BIGs National Constitution
  • Be an advocate of equal opportunity for Blacks in
    Government and
  • Eliminate practices of racism and racial
    discrimination against Blacks in the government.
  • The DIRECTION is with the assistance of the
    Regional Council Presidents of BIG, every BIG
    local chapter appoint an AE/EEO Chairperson
    and/or establish a committee to
  • The BIG Advocacy Organization Plan
  • Discrimination Awareness Program (DAP)

NOTE This will foster and improve the AE/EEO
issues identified in the BIG National
Constitution and in order to be effective a
communication network has to be in place,
functional, and together implementing our
advocacy program.
