The name of Jioufen
- During the first years of the Qing Dynasty,
the village here housed nine families, thus the
village would request "nine portions" every time
shipments arrived from town. Later Jioufen ("Nine
portions" in Chinese) would become the name of
the village.

About Jioufen
- Jioufen breaks away from this mortal world. In
1991, There was a movie which filmed by ??? named
Pathos City or A City of Sadness. It was a
great hit, and attracted a lot of tourists to
visit Jioufen Hill City.

- Jioufen Old Street is celebrated about
Taiwaness traditional food, such as beef noodles,
A-po fish paste, peanut-ice-cream, fish ball
soup... And there are also some stroes of
handicrafts like geta and ocarina. - Jioufen Old Street is an air of antiquity and
a fascinating place. You must visit here at least

the north of Taiwan. The weather there is always
cloudy and drizzly for days. And it might make
you feel little gloomy. But if the weather is
serene, Jioufen Old Street will be crowded with
visitors, and you will feel animated. Its a
place where I recommend. - Jioufen Old Street is famous for fish ball
soup. The fish ball stores at the forepart of the
street sell fish balls in small size. And which
at the middle of the street sell fish balls that
are as big as ping-pong balls. And which at the
end of the street sell fish balls that are like
baseballs. Isnt it cool?

want to introduce. Its very special food that
attracts not only children but adults. Put some
