Objective
- To determine the effectiveness of X-TREME TSC-100
on oil and stain repellency. - Overview
- Eight Portland Type I blocks were cured for 28
days. Four blocks were sprayed with X-TREME
TSC-100 and four were left as controls. Oil,
Ketchup, Mustard, Lemon, and Lime were placed on
each block and left to sit for 1, 3, 24, and 72
hours. After the permitted time, the staining
products were removed. The block was then rinsed
and scrubbed with a mild detergent and left to
dry.

Staining product applied to Control
- Oil, Ketchup, Mustard, Lemon and Lime applied to
the surface for 1, 3, 24, and 72 hours.

Results after 1 and 3 hours of control
- After 1 hour, oil stained heavily. Mustard left
a medium to heavy stain. Lemon left a slight
outline where the stain was. - After 3 hours, oil stained heavily as did
mustard. Lemon and lime both left a slight ring
on the edge of the stain. - Oil penetrated the surface after just 3 minutes
of it being applied.

Results after 24 and 72 hours of control.
- After 24 hours, the oil penetrated and left deep,
heavy staining. The ketchup and mustard also left
medium to heavy stains. You could see the
outline of where the lemon stain was located. - After 72 hours, as expected the oil heavily
stained the surface. Ketchup and mustard also
left heavy stains. Lemon and lime were light to
medium.

Results after 1 and 3 hours
- Staining products were removed after 1 and 3
hours. - The surface was rinsed and scrubbed with a mild
detergent, then let to dry. - No Staining!

- Staining products removed after 24 and 72 hours.
- The surface was rinsed and scrubbed with a mild
detergent, then let to dry. - After 24 hours, the only sign of staining was an
outline of where the lemon stain was located.
Ketchup, Mustard, oil, lemon did not stain the
surface at all. - After 72 hours, Oil did not stain at all. The
mustard was probably the most obvious, but a
light stain. The ketchup lemon and lime all had
a very light stain.
