Baptists in Queensland 150 years!
2,000 years ago, 13 people gathered in an upper
room. The Church was about to be born! 150
years ago, on 5th Aug 1854, 13 people gathered
and the Baptist work in Queensland was about to
be born!

• One church has grown to 170 churches
• 13 people have grown to around 27,000
• Countless missionaries around the world (161 from
  ABMS/GiA alone)
• Ministry training, social services etc etc

  spiritual
• 1 in 3 Australians pray or meditate weekly
• 7 in 10 Australians believe in God
• Less than one in 5 attend church at least monthly
• The church is seen as the keeper of the moral or
  ethical code for society
• We need a fresh vision of God!

2006 Visioning God

• Spiritual leadership is essentially a matter of
  being able to help others connect with God for
  the first time and then to help them develop that
  relationship.

Psalm 20 7 Some trust in chariots and some in
horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our
God.

Spirit, says the LORD Almighty.
