District Energy Management Software
2
TERMIS
  • TERMIS is designed to assist district energy
    companies in maximizing efficiency, while
    minimizing operational costs.
  • As one of the leading standards within
    model-based simulation software, TERMIS utilizes
the latest technology to provide outstanding
    performance, stability and productivity.

3
TERMIS
  • With off-line, on-line and real-time
capabilities, TERMIS combines a design, planning
and operational tool into one package for
    day-to-day network management.

4
The Clients say
The large investments we have made in GIS and
SCADA can now be used in an active and dynamic
manner, as TERMIS automatically generates
simulation models from GIS data and utilizes
SCADA data. Mr. Bruno Højrizi, GIS department
manager, Aalborg DH company
  • We have saved approx. 7 million US since we
    started implementing the TERMIS Real-Time
Management System in 1990. Savings that benefit
    our customers.
  • Mr. Per Rimmen, Director Odense DH company

5
The Clients say
  • Our goal was to have a network simulation model
that is always updated with consumer and GIS
data, which is easy to work with on a daily basis
and which makes optimisation a flexible task.
  • Mr. Bjarne Holm, planning department manager,
    Aalborg DH company

It was important for us to to choose a software
package which ensures that we can utilise all our
GIS registrations completely, and at the same
time provides the possibility to integrate our
SCADA, GIS and billing systems with on-line
network simulations. Mr. Ronald Thauland, IT
Manager, Viken DH company

TERMIS Modules
  • The following modules are available
  • TERMIS
  • TERMIS provides static hydraulic dynamic
    temperature simulations.
  •
  • Surge
  • Surge provides a fully transient simulation
environment based upon the hydraulic model and
    supplemented with transient operational elements.
  • Steam
  • Steam provides simulations of pipeline network
with steam in the supply pipes.

8
TERMIS Modules
  • The following modules are available
  • MODEL MANAGER
  • MODEL MANAGER (MM) provides a generic interface
for automatic model building and maintenance via
    GIS and billing systems.
  •
  • DATA MANAGER
  • DATA MANAGER (DM) is a standard database (SQL
server or Access) for handling historical on-line
data and real-time data from SCADA, billing
systems and loggers. DM includes a user interface
for configuration of SCADA tag, ID, etc., as well
as visualization of data stored in the database.

9
TERMIS Modules
  • The following modules are available
  • Automatic Calibration
  • The Automatic Calibration module automatically
provides the best calibration values for overall
heat loss, pipeline roughness or diameter.
  • Pump Production Optimization
  • The Pump Production Optimization module
determines how the pumps and the producers on a
district energy network shall operate at any
given time in order to minimize the total cost of
    operation for the entire network.

10
TERMIS Modules
  • The following modules are available
  • Grabber
  • The Grabber module visualizes the detailed piping
and equipment in the plants, pump stations, etc.
in the TERMIS simulation model environment. The
latest updated process measurements from the
SCADA system are presented on the Grabber
    screens.
  •
  • ASP Thin Client
  • The ASP provider is responsible for the Clients
models on a server and the Clients can remotely
access their models via a Thin Client solution.

11
TERMIS Areas of use
  • Off-Line
  • TERMIS is an important tool for planning and
    design.
  • On-Line/Real-Time
  • The TERMIS model runs continuously on SCADA data
and provides for optimisation of the supply of
energy 24 hours a day and 365 days a year.
  • TERMIS is used by planners and operators, as well
as management because of the achieved benefits
and increased understanding of the network
    processes here and now.

12
Why On-Line/Real-Time?
  • Continuous surveillance control of process
parametres - now and in the future.
  • Complete optimisation of the processes.
  • Early warning about future problems.
  • Pro-active operation and control.
  • Optimised energy consumption.
  • Balanced use of pumps and storage.
  • Base planning and design on a model which is
updated and calibrated all the time.
  • The On-Line/Real-Time system turns data and
    results from applications into valuable
information - information which it normally would
    take days to establish.

13
Did you know that
  • TERMIS monitors the process in every single
location of the district energy network.
  •
  • TERMIS forecasts the process providing
pro-active and operational performance of the
    district energy system.
  •
  • TERMIS lets you follow the entire process via 3D
    animated colour plots.
  •
  • TERMIS allows remote operation via thin client
    technology.
  •
  • TERMIS provides automatic building and
maintenance of the simulation models from
    corporate GIS and billing systems.
