Download
  • Click on the download button.
  • Disable virus protection.
  • Install the software.

Creating your account
  • Open IE.
  • Click on the Pluck icon in the tool bar or
    use click StartProgramsPluck.
  • Click on the Web Folders tab.
  • Click on Create an Account.
  • Follow the online directions to create your
    account.
  • Use your Maricopa web mail to retrieve the
    message they send you and activate your account.

Importing IE favorites
  • Be sure you are signed in (Web Folders tab in the
    lower left of the screen)
  • Click on the Options and Tool in the Shared Items
    section.
  • Choose the Import/Export tab.
  • Click on Import IE Favorites.

Add a site to your personal folders
  • Browse to the PC home page.
  • Click on the pluck page icon in the tool bar.
  • When the dialog box opens, use the drop-down menu
    to choose a personal folder.
  • Note that if you dont have the icon in your
    toolbar, you can use ToolsPluck this page in
    your browser menu.

Inviting others to share your folder
  • Drag one of the folders you imported from IE to
    the shared folder section.
  • Right click on the folder after dragging.
  • Select invite from the drop-down menu.
  • When the dialog box opens, enter the email
    addresses of those with whom you want to share.
  • Click on your Web Folders tab.

Subscribing to shared folders
  • Once invited, you can subscribe to others
    folders.
  • Click on the My Pluck tab.
  • Click on the item in your Inbox.
  • Click on the subscribe button.
  • Unsubscribe if you like by using the right mouse
    and selecting unsubscribe from the menu options.

RSS feeds
  • What is RSS?
  • Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is a lightweight
    XML format designed for sharing headlines and
    other Web content. Think of it as a distributable
    "What's New" for your site. Originated by
    UserLand in 1997 and subsequently used by
    Netscape to fill channels for Netcenter, RSS has
    evolved into a popular means of sharing content
    between sites (including the BBC, CNET, CNN,
    Disney, Forbes, Motley Fool, Wired, Red Herring,
    Salon, Slashdot, ZDNet, and more).

  • Keep you current.
  • Reduce email.
  • Alert you to changes in projects you are working
    on.

Adding a RSS feed
  • Enter http//jade.mcli.dist.maricopa.edu/alan/ as
    your browser address.
  • Drag the RSS button to your surfed feeds on your
    RSS Reader tab.

Delete a feed
  • Be sure you are on the RSS tab (bottom left
    side).
  • Expand one of the feeds (click on the sign.)
  • Click to highlight a feed.
  • Press the delete button.
  • Confirm the deletion.

Signing off your account
  • Click on the My Pluck tab.
  • RIGHT click on Inbox.
  • Select Sign Out from the drop-down menu.
  • Sign on again from your My Pluck tab.
