7Q1.The CPD cycle is a period of 3 years
8Q1. Comments
- Longer CPD cycle
- 5 years as a cycle
- 5 6 years a cycle
9Q2. Each enrollee is required to accumulate a
minimum of 45 points within a CPD cycle
10Q2. Comments
- Reference / rationale for 45 points
- lt 45 points for 3-year cycle (3)
- 30 40 points for 3-year cycle (4)
- Minimum of 30 points for 3-year cycle (3)
- 50 points within a 5-year cycle
- 40 points within a 4-year cycle due to limited
available relevant programs
11Q3. Those who failed to accumulate a required CPD
points within a cycle will be granted one-year
grace period upon reasonable grounds to catch up
with the outstanding score
12Q3. Comments
- Grace period for pregnant PT be extended to 2
years for recovery allowance (2) - Grace period in general can be extended to 2
years - Consideration of employers proof of good working
performance in granting the practicing
certificate when the concerned PT has not
fulfilled the CPD requirements
13Q4. A self-declaration with random check practice
is adopted as the mechanism of monitoring the
fulfillment of CPD score within a CPD cycle
14Q5. Upon the fulfillment of CPD requirements
within a CPD cycle, you would like to have some
forms of incentive / encouragement, for example,
a certificate or publishing a name list of
successful participants
15Q6. The Preferred Organisation(s) for the CPD
Programme Accreditor is (are)
16Q6. Comments
- Other preferred organization an independent
committee, special school, overseas universities
and other local ones and PTCOC - Joint committee / panel consisting of the 3
organisations (2) - HKPT Union not an organization to deal with
issues on knowledge and skills development, but
for policy and professional issues only - Course organizer should lower the course fees so
as to avoid the image of profit-making (2) - Free courses can be provided by the
organization as the fees will be expensive in
earning 45 points - Course should be organized in more convenient
time such as Saturday PM or Sundays to allow more
members to participate
17Q7. The classification of continuing education
activities into CPD main categories and sub-
categories is appropriate.
18Q8. The description of each CPD main category is
clear and comprehensive.
19Q9. Classification of CPD sub-category into core
and non-core activities is appropriate
20Q9. Comments
- Consider a wider scope of main categories, i.e.
to include health care management, IT, TCM,
consider core-competence for physio manager,
educators, work in social and welfare sector,
work in private sector - Core can be defined as those that are related
to professional development and service
improvement lectures on other clinical
specialties, infection control and so on should
be counted as core - No need to classify core and non-core activities
- How about professional volunteer work e.g. going
to China?
21Q9. Comments (2)
- Delete categories on in-service training
self study literature review issue of QA - Its difficult to decide core and non-core PT
whose job practice mainly concerns orthopaedic,
attends training on womens health core or
non-core? - Allocation of points for local / overseas
attachment - Disagree on-field sports physio practice to be
included - Include research activities
22Q10. General guiding principle for allocating 1
unit of CPD point based on 1 hour of audience
participation is appropriate
23Q10. Comments
- One hour of audience participation should be
allocated 1 unit of CPD point for those special
school PT in attending education courses or
overseas visits within their context - 2 units for one hour of audience participation
(2) - PT in special school will encounter difficulties
on the legitimacy of in-service training because
their manpower usually stands at 2 3 colleagues - QA on literature review reporting, journal review
- 10 CPD points for the author in publishing a
professional textbook while he / she can earn
money unfair
24Q10. Comments (2)
- Ensure quality of in-service training
- Publication needs more than 15-30 hours of work
and equivalent to at least 15 points - Is there a capping for post-graduate studies
(cat. 2) in earning the CPD units? (2) - Should not have a maximum point per activity (2)
- More points allocated to promotional activities
(3) - How about overseas training?
- How about poster making?
25Q11. CPD activities shall have a higher rating of
CPD points when compared with non-core CPD
activities.
26Q11. Comments
- Core and non-core weighted equally (4)
- Non-core CPD activities should not be halved
- 0.5 factor is not suitable managerial skill,
finance / marketing skills, risk management are
essential for professional development
27Q12. Other Comments
- PT students should be consulted for a complete
view of CPD - On-line courses as provided by HKPA, PolyU so
that nine-to-nine private PT practitioners can
reach the training programs - Some courses from PolyU and hospitals do not fit
in the working schedule of private practitioners
(2) - CPD remain voluntary (20)
28Q12. Other Comments (2)
- Long hours of business hours in private practice
and employers decision are barriers to take
courses - Should emphasis on specialty development
- As CDP is meant for the licensing of clinical
practice, hence those non-core CPD activities
should not be considered - Expensive courses could cast economic burden for
fresh graduates
