PDP Forum activities 2007-8
  • Two meetings on PDP implementation (Paisley and
    Glasgow Caledonian)
  • Two practitioner-focused events (St Andrews and
    Napier) aimed at sharing practice
  • An online repository to allow simplified access
    to a range of PDP/e-portfolio practice
    (http//www.recordingachievement.org/practitioners
    /default.asp)
  • A new Scottish HE PDP mailing list (currently 115
    recipients, all Scottish HEIs represented (and
    some English))
  • Added to page on Academys website
  • Commissioning a project to develop a new set of
    guidelines for institutions to support PDP
    implementation

How effective is the PDP Forum?
  • Forum is sector-led, so feedback and evaluation
    important way of informing our work
  • Most positive aspect of the Forum is sharing
    practice and networking opportunities
  • Sharing across disciplines and institutions
  • US colleagues
  • Evaluation (asking what people would do, then
    asking if they did it) has given concrete
    evidence of this
