  • Thank you for participating in ADEs data
    collection efforts for our EETT (Title IID)
    grants.
  • Your participation last year has given us
    valuable data to help guide our progress.
  • 2006 Results

Changes for 2006-2007
  • 15 of teachers involved in your EETT grant need
    to take only the following parts of ASSETs 360
    Technology online assessments
  • Diagnostic Assessment
  • Performance (Knowledge) Assessment
  • Part One of Environmental Assessment Teacher
    Demographics, Attitudes, and Technology Uses
  • Only teachers new to your EETT grant efforts
    need to do the Pretest before 12/15/06.

Not just first year teachers but teachers
receiving services for the first time.

Rationale for 360 Assessment
  • Accountability for both formula (20,000 in 2005
    and selected charter schools) and competitive
    EETT federal funding
  • 2005-2006 results established baseline data
  • Data is designed to focus LEAs professional
    development efforts throughout the year
  • Data can show progress from year to year
  • The teacher companion to the TechLiteracy
    Assessment (TLA) for students

Timeline Note Teachers who took 360 in May
will not need to take it again until May 2007!
  • For new teachers involved in your EETT grant
    Pre test complete by December 15, 2006 and
    complete post test by May 18, 2007. (Send names
    of teachers new to your project to
    cathy.poplin_at_azed.gov and they will be included
    in the ADE 360 data reports.)
  • For continuing teachers (those who took the 360
    in May, 2006) complete post test by May 18,
    2007.
  • Continuing teachers only take the post test.

Additional Information
  • Teachers can complete the assessments anywhere
    they have access to the Internet and a computer.
    It can be done at school, at home or at
    Starbucks!
  • Approximate time for taking all three parts is 1
    hour.
  • The assessment can be started and stopped at any
    time. Teachers can complete one part and then
    come back at another time and complete the rest.
  • Make sure teachers save their work before
    stopping if not completed.

Additional Information (cont)
  • No individual teacher data can be retrieved.
    Reports only show aggregated scores!
  • It is recommended that each district have a
    designated ASSET Administrator. You need to
    contact ASSET directly to set this up,
    www.asset.asu.edu.
  • The ASSET administrator can access reports at any
    time, manage completion progress by school and as
    help with password issues.
  • ADEs Ed Tech External Evaluator can help with
    training of the ASSET Administrator once they are
    set-up through ASSET. Contact Linda Thompson

How to Access the Assessment

Step 1 Activate your ASSET Account

  • Before you access the assessments, you must do
    the following
  • Go to www.asset.asu.edu.
  • Click on Ready to Activate.
  • Click on No.
  • You may have to click on Create new Account.
  • Select County, District, and School. Click Save
    My School.
  • Type in your districts ASSET Coordinator,
    (contact ASSET if you dont know your
    coordinators name) and click on Create My
    Account.
  • Select type of staff and click Save Staff
    Position.
  • Select Grades and Subjects and click on Save
    Grades/Subjects.
  • Fill out all of the Personal Information and
    click Save Changes.
  • You will be presented with a confirmation screen.
    You may want to write down or print out this
    information. Click on the Enter button.

Step 2 Locate 360 on ASSETs Portal

Step 3 Locate ADE 360
NOTE If you do not see ADE 360, go ahead and
take the 360 Technology. They are the
same. Please send the name(s) to
cathy.poplin_at_azed.gov or chris.castillo_at_azed.gov
and your data will be added to the ADE group.
