What is it? Community Passport
  • 3 year initiative funded by Paul Hamlyn
    Foundation 2006-2009.
  • Males aged 16-21 moving out of Polmont Young
    Offenders Institution, Scotland.
  • Intervention programme 3-6 months prior
  • to liberation and continuing programme of
    personal support in the community.
  • A new way forward onto training, education and
    employment.

  • Michael S, 19 Joined Passport in March 2008.
    Released April 2008 and has achieved
  • In Prison
  • SQA Personal Effectiveness
  • Personal development exercises
  • Mock interviews
  • On release MS had a chaotic time he returned to
    Prison a number of times for around 1 month.
  • Kept in contact with worker meeting in the office
    after court dates
  • In the Community
  • Construction License (CSCS) training at Passport
  • Got a job in construction as a laborer in July
    2008
  • Sustained until October 2008
  • Remanded in custody- return to prison from
    October 08
  • Re-engaged with Passport for support looking for
    work in January 2009

  • David G, 20 Joined Passport in May 2008.
    Released in November 2008 and has achieved
  • SQA in Personal Effectiveness
  • 100 attendance with meetings outside (4)
  • Secured a job with Next clothes shop to assist
    with their Christmas sale
  • Applied for a college course with Access to
    Industry
  • Started the Fitness Training Course in January
    2009 at Edinburghs Telford College.
  • DG still meets his AI worker to do job search to
    find a part time job to help his finances whilst
    studying.
