Title: Our Unique Earth

1
Our Unique Earth
If you look at the Earth from space, you will see
that it is very different from the other planets
in the Solar system
So, HOW is the Earth unique?
First, it has liquid water. Indeed, 70 percent of
the Earth's surface is water-covered. All this
water is called HYDROSPHERE
Second, Earths ATMOSPHERE is oxygen-rich, which
is good for living organisms to breath.
Third, life exists in great variety of forms
(including intelligent humans, like us!!!).
Fourth, even the hard part of the Earth,
LITHOSPHERE, is not stagnant, but consists of
plates that are constantly moving, causing
mountains formation and earthquakes. These
movements are called PLATE TECHTONICS, which
occur only on the Earth.
Earths atmosphere, hydrosphere, lithosphere, and
biosphere are linked. Driven by the Solar energy
and the Earths internal heat, matter and energy
cycle through them and determine weather,
influence formation of rocks, and affect all
living organisms
WHY is the Earth unique?
Earth is located at the perfect distance from the
Sun. The amount of solar radiation is just
right, not too much, as on Venus, and not too
little, as on Mars.

HOW did Earth become unique?
It underwent long, long evolution from the
formation of solid core 4.5 billion years ago to
the appearing of the homo sapience. But many many
other events took place during Earths history.
This is what our display about!
