Declaimed more than a third since 1990 Spain,
represents a 16 of the EU tanning production,
and the employment has fallen down by 35 from
1990 since last year The employment is moved to
other regions, such as China or India In any
case, Europe is still a important supplier of
leather in the international marketplace

- Working in the sector the last tree years
- Or during six years in all their labour life
25Remarks
- The Spanish tanning industry suffered the effects
of an important recession during the last years. - The majority (70) of the older workers have only
finished primary school. - Training in leather industry is inadequate
because it is not sufficiently perceived as an
investment.
