Moses Inaugurated the First High Priests
And Moses took half the blood and put it in
basins, and half the blood he sprinkled on the
altar. Then he took the Book of the Covenant and
read in the hearing of the people. And they said,
"All that the LORD has said we will do, and be
obedient." And Moses took the blood, sprinkled it
on the people, and said, "This is the blood of
the covenant which the LORD has made with you
according to all these words (Exodus 246-8).

Moses Inaugurated the First High Priests
"You shall also take the other ram, and Aaron and
his sons shall put their hands on the head of the
ram. Then you shall kill the ram, and take some
of its blood and put it on the tip of the right
ear of Aaron and on the tip of the right ear of
his sons, on the thumb of their right hand and on
the big toe of their right foot, and sprinkle the
blood all around on the altar. And you shall take
some of the blood that is on the altar, and some
of the anointing oil, and sprinkle it on Aaron
and on his garments, on his sons and on the
garments of his sons with him and he and his
garments shall be hallowed, and his sons and his
sons' garments with him (Exodus 2919-21).

And Moses said to Aaron, "Go to the altar, offer
your sin offering and your burnt offering, and
make atonement for yourself and for the people.
Offer the offering of the people, and make
atonement for them, as the LORD commanded." Aaron
therefore went to the altar and killed the calf
of the sin offering, which was for himself. Then
the sons of Aaron brought the blood to him. And
he dipped his finger in the blood, put it on the
horns of the altar, and poured the blood at the
base of the altar (Leviticus 97-9)

And he killed the burnt offering and Aaron's
sons presented to him the blood, which he
sprinkled all around on the altar
(Leviticus 912).
Then he brought the people's offering, and took
the goat, which was the sin offering for the
people, and killed it and offered it for sin,
like the first one (Leviticus 915)

He also killed the bull and the ram as
sacrifices of peace offerings, which were for the
people. And Aaron's sons presented to him the
blood, which he sprinkled all around on the
altar (Leviticus 918).

And Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of
meeting, and came out and blessed the people.
Then the glory of the LORD appeared to all the
people, and fire came out from before the LORD
and consumed the burnt offering and the fat on
the altar. When all the people saw it, they
shouted and fell on their faces (Lev 923-24).

Also the tenth day of this seventh month shall
be the Day of Atonement. It shall be a holy
convocation for you you shall afflict your
souls, and offer an offering made by fire to the
LORD. And you shall do no work on that same day,
for it is the Day of Atonement, to make atonement
for you before the LORD your God (Leviticus
2327-28)

Thus Aaron shall come into the Holy Place with
the blood of a young bull as a sin offering, and
of a ram as a burnt offering. He shall put the
holy linen tunic and the linen trousers on his
body he shall be girded with a linen sash, and
with the linen turban he shall be attired. These
are holy garments. Therefore he shall wash his
body in water, and put them on. And he shall take
from the congregation of the children of Israel
two kids of the goats as a sin offering, and one
ram as a burnt offering (Leviticus 163-5).

The High Priest Continued to Atone
He shall take the two goats and present them
before the LORD at the door of the tabernacle of
meeting. Then Aaron shall cast lots for the two
goats one lot for the LORD and the other lot for
the scapegoat. And Aaron shall bring the goat on
which the LORD's lot fell, and offer it as a sin
offering. But the goat on which the lot fell to
be the scapegoat shall be presented alive before
the LORD, to make atonement upon it, and to let
it go as the scapegoat into the wilderness (Lev
167-10).

Then he shall kill the goat of the sin offering,
which is for the people, bring its blood inside
the veil, do with that blood as he did with the
blood of the bull, and sprinkle it on the mercy
seat and before the mercy seat. So he shall make
atonement for the Holy Place, because of the
uncleanness of the children of Israel, and
because of their transgressions, for all their
sins and so he shall do for the tabernacle of
meeting which remains among them in the midst of
their uncleanness (Leviticus 1615-16).

And he shall go out to the altar that is before
the LORD, and make atonement for it, and shall
take some of the blood of the bull and some of
the blood of the goat, and put it on the horns of
the altar all around. Then he shall sprinkle some
of the blood on it with his finger seven times,
cleanse it, and consecrate it from the
uncleanness of the children of Israel. "And when
he has made an end of atoning for the Holy Place,
the tabernacle of meeting, and the altar, he
shall bring the live goat (Leviticus 1618-20).

Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of
the live goat, confess over it all the iniquities
of the children of Israel, and all their
transgressions, concerning all their sins,
putting them on the head of the goat, and shall
send it away into the wilderness by the hand of a
suitable man. The goat shall bear on itself all
their iniquities to an uninhabited land and he
shall release the goat in the wilderness. "Then
Aaron shall come into the tabernacle of meeting,
shall take off the linen garments which he put on
when he went into the Holy Place, and shall leave
them there. And he shall wash his body with water
in a holy place, put on his garments, come out
and offer his burnt offering and the burnt
offering of the people, and make atonement for
himself and for the people (Leviticus
1621-24)

Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who
has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of
God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do
not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with
our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as
we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come
boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain
mercy and find grace to help in time of need
(Hebrews 414-16)

Jesus Made Atonement by His Blood
Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the
flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you
overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He
purchased with His own blood (Acts 2028).

But Christ came as High Priest of the good
things to come, with the greater and more perfect
tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of
this creation. Not with the blood of goats and
calves, but with His own blood He entered the
Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained
eternal redemption (Hebrews 911-12).

Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter
the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and
living way which He consecrated for us, through
the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High
Priest over the house of God, let us draw near
with a true heart in full assurance of faith,
having our hearts sprinkled from an evil
conscience and our bodies washed with pure water
(Hebrews 1019-22)

Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To the
pilgrims of the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia,
Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, elect according
to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in
sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience and
sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ Grace to
you and peace be multiplied (1 Peter 11-2).

But you are a chosen generation, a royal
priesthood, a holy nation, His own special
people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him
who called you out of darkness into His marvelous
light who once were not a people but are now the
people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now
have obtained mercy (1 Peter 29-10).

The Way Planned, Built, and Consecrated

• He laid the foundation for it His own self and
  His teachings.
• He created the entrance requirements
• He created the laws that would govern it
• He created every aspect of it.
• THEN He consecrated it
• This body is what we were made a part of when we
  were saved.

For if we sin willfully after we have received
the knowledge of the truth, there no longer
remains a sacrifice for sins (Hebrews 1026).
