Artist Statement
  • I am passionate about art because I want to be an
interior designer when I get older. Artwork helps
me to spark creativity and think of new ideas.
Most of my family members enjoy art too,
especially my dad. He has a lot of natural talent
and inspires a lot of my artwork.
  • My artwork is normally inspired by nature. I
love drawing and painting flowers, trees, rocks
and shells. Nature is so beautiful and I think
its beauty should be captured in art. My skills
as an artist have grown a lot through my high
school years with the help of my art teachers.
Theyve taught me things about art that I didnt
know about on my own and have helped me to
    develop as an artist.
  • Over the years, my artwork has improved also
because Ive learned to try new ideas and
techniques. I used to be afraid of chalking, but
I tried it on a project in one of my art classes
and now I love it. To be a successful artist, you
cant be afraid to try new things. I would not be
where I am today if I was afraid of a challenge
in my art. Hopefully this success in my art will
carry me in my career as an interior designer.

4
Me
  • This artwork, titled Me, is a pastel elongated
self portrait. To do this project, you use a
picture of yourself, and grid it. Then you grid a
long sheet of paper. The result will be an
    elongated version of you.

5
Tiger
  • This artwork, titled Tiger, is a pen and ink
drawing of a white tiger. White tigers are my
favorite animals, and inspired this piece. This
piece was entered to be in the school calendar.

6
Sunset
  • This piece, titled sunset, was done as a
creative color wheel. This painting, done with
tempera paint, shows every color on the color
wheel, just in a more creative way than the
    traditional color wheel.

7
Flower
  • This piece, titled Flower, is a watercolor
painting of a flower in front of a beautiful blue
sky. This painting was inspired by the beautiful
art of Georgia OKeefe. Watercolors were tough at
first, but got easier as I went on. I now enjoy
watercolors, and hope to have beautiful
    watercolor paintings in the future.
