2MY ACCOUNT
allows checking books on loan,
renewal of books online, checking reservations
and fines
Click on My Account and enter your borrower
number in the box provided. Instructions are
given for each institution
3The top of the screen displays a summary of your
account including outstanding charges, number of
loans (and an alert if any are due back within a
week), reservation and interlibrary loan
requests outstanding
4Follow on-screen instructions to renew books by
clicking on boxes next to titles, then click on
Renew loans
Messages will advise you if books cannot be
renewed, or if fines are due. A new due date will
display for renewed books
5From bottom of screen, select Account to return
to first screen, or email, print or download to
disk current screen. N.B. Email, print and
download options not available from catalogues in
the Library
Reservations can be cancelled by clicking on the
box next to the title, and then on Cancel
reservation
6Loan, and reservation history can be checked by
clicking on the appropriate button.
Loan History displays all the details needed to
cite the book in a list of references at the end
of an assignment
7To check fines and/or invoices select Charges
Charges includes Fines on books which have been
renewed or returned late, and Miscellaneous which
consists of invoices sent for unreturned/lost
books
8Remember to Log out of your account at the end
of the session
9RESERVING BOOKS
If all loan copies at all
sites are on loan, reservations may be made on
the computer. Clicking on Show details will
display how many reservations have already been
placed
N.B. if copies are available at other sites, ask
for an intersite loan form
10To reserve a book, click on Reserve item
Fill in borrower number when prompted.
11Click on Place a request
Change the collection site by Drop down menu if
necessary, then click on Confirm. If the site is
not altered, default collection site is Avery Hill
12Progress of reservations can be checked by
logging into My Account and selecting
Reservations.Only 5 reservations may be held at
any one time
Active status means the book has not yet been
returned to the Library
Reservations may be cancelled by ticking box and
clicking on Cancel reservation. Reservation
history displays reservations no longer current
13Remember to Log out of your account after placing
a reservation, or checking reservation progress
14- Remember to check your University email account
for notification of overdue books and reserved
books awaiting collection.
