• Sun Academic Initiative (SAI) Program!
• This orientation presentation was prepared in
  order to help you and your students get the most
  out of the SAI program.

  Web-based courses through Sun Learning Connection

Get Set Register

• Now that you're an SAI participant your students,
  faculty and staff can now register into Sun's
  learning management system called SAI
  Learning Connection (SAILC)
• http//sailearningconnection.skillport.com
• SAILC provides access to Sun's technology Web
  Courses such as Java, Solaris and StarOffice.
• When your students, faculty and staff register
  into SAILC, they will be asked for their Program
  Name and ID
• What's your institution's Program Name and ID?
• When your institution was accepted into the Sun
  Academic Initiative Program, it was assigned a
  program name and id.
• SAI Program Names start with a prefix 'SAI'
• ex SAI-US
• SAI Program IDs are 8 alphanumeric characters
• ex 4bd4f83g
• Your SAI-Program Name and ID are IMPORTANT.
  They are needed for
• SAILC registration
• Access to SAI Discount Certification Exam Voucher
• Emailing Contact_SAI_at_sun.com
• Your SAI-Program Name and ID are

• Now that you've received your SAI-Program Name
  and ID GO and SPREAD the WORD!
• GO! Register everyone into the SAILC, to enroll
  and start the knowledge adventure into Sun's
  Technologies.
• Remember
• You're SAI-Program Name and ID are important and
  MUST BE SHARED with all Students, Faculty and
  Staff.
• If you encounter a problem, check out Section 3
  in this orientation presentation to find
  troubleshooting tips to the most common problems.

• If you are new to using a learning management
  system, we recommend that you download the SAI
  Learning Connection user guide (pdf)?
• Get familiar with the SAILC features, theyre

of courses you have started and completed. Live

links to various topics relating to news and
learning events.

• Instructor Led Training (ILT)
• If your institution applied and got accepted to
  be an SAI-ILT participant, you not only have
  access to SAI Learning Connection (SAILC web
  courses) but you also have access to Sun's
  Partner Exchange (SPE) website in order to avail
  of instructor led training materials such as
  presentations, overheads, instructor guides and
  students guides.

ePractice Certification Exam

• As a Sun Academic Initiative (SAI) Program
  participant, your institution will have access to
  ePractice Certification Exams via SAI Learning
  Connection (SAILC) to prepare for Sun
  Certification.
• These no-cost web based practice exams will
  acquaint your students, faculty and staff with
  the format of the exams and its questions.
• The practice exams includes sample test
  questions, the correct answers with explanations,
  and provides the test taker suggestions for
  future study.
• Theyre available
• 24 hours a day.

Discount Voucher for Certification Exam The
ultimate of goal of the SAI program is TO HELP
YOUR Students,faculty and staff , GET SUN
CERTIFIED! When you are ready to take the
certification exam, as a SAI participant, you can
avail of the discount voucher for Certification
Exam. This discount voucher will allow you to
take the Certification Exam at a discount rate
an exam that normally cost 160 for
professionals, are only 60 in the US and 40 in
Latin America and Asia. You will need to log into
SAI Learning Connection in order to access the
SAI Discount Voucher for Certification
Exam. -Click on SAI News' -Click on
Certification Test Voucher Request' You will
also need your SAI-Program Name and ID in order
to access the voucher tool.
