  • The best way though is with a Freepoint tool.
  • This is a wireline tool that is run inside the
    stuck pipe.
  • Periodically (based on calculations) the pipe is
    stretched and rotated.
  • The freepoint tool detects movement in the pipe.
  • If there is no movement, the pipe is stuck.
  • The deepest point where the freepoint tool
    detects movement is the freepoint
