PMA 213 provides life cycle management of 57 Air
Traffic Control (ATC) and Combat Identification
(CID) Systems. ATC systems range from approach
and landing systems for USN USMC Air Stations
to shipboard systems for CV/CVNs and Amphibious
Ships to USMC Expeditionary systems. CID systems
include cooperative and non-cooperative systems
for virtually every Navy ship and aircraft, Army
helos, and USCG platforms. The Joint Precision
Approach and Landing System (JPALS) is a highly
accurate GPS-based vice radar-based system
comprised of ship systems, aircraft systems, and
JPALS-specific data link. JPALS will support
Joint Service, civil, and multi-national
interoperability and is the future of precision
Air Traffic Control for the USN USMC.
