  to persevere so that when you have done the will
  of God, you will receive what he has promised.

  after understanding.

To Turn Away From Jesus

• Heb 1029
• Trampled the Son of God under foot
• Treated as an unholy thing the blood of the
  covenant that sanctified him
• Insulted the Spirit of grace
• Consequences
• Fearfully face judgment
• Fall into the hands of the living God

A Word of Commendation 32-34

• Maintain Your Faith
• Some turned away
• Other maintained their confidence in spite of
  adverse circumstances
• Families disowned them
• Friends forsook them
• Foes harassed them
• Fellow believers

Maintained Their Commitment to Jesus

• Possessions were confiscated, they accepted it
  joyfully
• Choose to be faithful rather than turn away from
  their faith
• Reason because you knew that you yourselves had
  better and lasting possessions.
• We are challenged to maintain our confidence in
  Christ in spite of the opposition

• Difficult days ahead
• Dont Cast away your confidence now
• Come to far to turn back now
• Endured much, dont give up now!
• Near to the fulfillment of Gods promises
• This is no time to turn back

Endurance

• Perseverance
• Steadfastness
• 2 Pet 15-8, For this very reason, make every
  effort to add to your faith goodness and to
  goodness, knowledge and to knowledge,
  self-control and to self-control, perseverance
  and to perseverance, godliness and to godliness,
  brotherly kindness and to brotherly kindness,
  love. For if you possess these qualities in
  increasing measure, they will keep you from being
  ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of
  our Lord Jesus Christ.

Keep Trusting in Jesus

• Keep looking up
• Keep trusting
• No turning back
• Hab 23-4, For the revelation awaits an
  appointed time it speaks of the end and will not
  prove false. Though it linger, wait for it it
  will certainly come and will not delay. "See, he
  is puffed up his desires are not upright-- but
  the righteous will live by his faith
• It is a life of faith that pleases God!

Dont Turn Back

• The life that displeases God is the life that
  abandons Christ for the old life of sin
• And if he shrinks back, I will not be pleased
  with him.
• There is no turning back
• Heb 1039, But we are not of those who shrink
  back and are destroyed, but of those who believe
  and are saved.
