What was the Oregon Trail?

• Who- pioneers, immigrants
• What- 2,000 long string of rivers, and natural
  landmarks.
• When- 1843-1870s
• Where- it begins in Independence, Missouri and
  ends in Oregon city, Oregon.
• Why- searching for greater opportunities, liked
  extra freedom of life on the frontier, starting
  new adventures

Clothing

• Ladies wore bloomers(baggy trousers)
• men wore union suits(long underwear)
• dresses made of wool
• boys-hats with brims to shade faces
• girls- bonnets to protect their eyes
• footwear- leather moccasins from the Native
  Americans
